Construction Services for Ropes Courses and Challenge Courses
High Ropes Courses and Challenge CoursesA series of elements and/or obstacles based 15 or more feet off the ground, making use of an overhead or static belay to protect participants. Course can be constructed in a mature stand of trees, utility poles or permanent structures and may make use of any of a number of safety systems. High ropes courses present tests of physical strength, stamina, agility, balance, and flexibility, and they invite participants to confront such emotional issues as the fear of heights, the fear of failure, and the fear of losing control. Course elements can be designed to focus on individuals, partnerships, or small teams. |

Climbing TowersClimbing towers can be designed to reach a variety of educational and recreational goals. Like high ropes courses, climbing towers challenge participants to push their comfort zones and challenge their perceived limitations. Walls can be designed to challenge anyone from the novice climber to the expert. A variety of options exist regarding belay systems and wall textures. Wall can be designed to be rustic in nature or simulate outdoor rock climbing. Various belay systems can be incorporated that encourage skill development, craftsmanship, and team support. |

Zip Lines and Canopy ToursZip lines can be designed as exit points from high ropes courses and/or climbing towers or run as an stand-alone activity. A high intensity activity, zip lines often force participants to confront issues of committing fully to a task and taking the challenging first step. Zip lines can be built off of trees, utility poles, existing structures, or natural features in the area. Canopy Tours generally consist of a series of zip lines and can be used for eco-tourism, amusement, or scientific research. |

Group Initiatives, Low Ropes, and Team Challenge CoursesSo-called "group initiatives," involving real and imaginary ground-based obstacles, present physical, mental, and emotional challenges that invite a group to explore teamwork strategies and demonstrate for themselves the importance of planning, cooperation, and communication. Courses can be permanently constructed or designed to be portable. Low ropes course elements are hybrids of the high course elements, often strung together in succession one to two feet of the ground. Group participants are trained to manage risk by aggressively spotting individuals as they make their crossing. Focus is on team and individual efforts. |
